Duties

The Surveillance Detection (SD) Technician is responsible for the compilation of individual reports from Surveillance Detection Unit (SDU) personnel and other sources at the U.S. Mission in a standard format.  The job holder is responsible for input of suspicious incident reports, images, and investigative material into an information systems database, retrieving and extracting reports of data, reviewing data to identify trends, patterns, circumstances, frequency of events, and preparing analysis documents for the Regional Security Office (RSO). The position is supervised by the SD Coordinator.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE:  At least two (2) years of military, police, or private experience in the field of security or statistical analysis is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:   Knowledge of surveillance techniques.  Awareness of cultural norms and customs is required.  Ability to analyze and organize a variety of data and write coherent and concise reports required.  These may be tested.

Education Requirements:

Successful completion of high school or local equivalent is required.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE:   Good Working Knowledge (speaking/reading/writing) in English and French is required. These may be tested.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:   Basic computer skills are required to include keyboarding skills with accuracy and ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.  These may be tested.

Agency Benefits:

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Yaounde, Cameroon may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.

For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
