Job Specifications/ Minimum & Preferred Requirements

Education / Business Degree

Minimum Bachelor or master’s in marketing, Economics, Information Technology or Statistics, Marker research/study, Data Science.

Fluent in English and French

Market research certification would be an advantage

Work Experience

Minimum 2 years’ experience in Market research techniques and methodology or in Statistic modelling

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in marketing in a service industry or FMCG environment,

Project Management experience

Knowledge of Consumer behavior and segmentation

Knowledge of Pricing methodology, pricing sensitivity, marginal analysis & cost analysis



– Data quality and control methods, Datamining and sampling methodology , -Good analytical skills

– Extra good numerical mind

– Advanced statistical software skills (SPSS, SAS, SPAD, etc.)

– Free statistical software skills (R, Tanagra, …)

– Skills in analyzing small samples (Bootstrap, …)

– Must be able to work under pressure

– Wide general culture

– Advanced use of GIS applications: ESRI / OpenData Tools (Gras, GvSig, GeoServer…)

  • Good Knowledge of customer behavior and market dynamics

Key Job Responsibilities

– Responsible to initiate relevant research survey

– Responsible to translate insights into opportunities

– Responsible and accountable to manage agency that support market researches.

– Develop measures/approaches to identify long-term trends in telecoms markets.

– Develop Techniques to track and to analyze all competitive information via desk research.

– Responsible to ensure the monitoring of all environmental information that may impact our business.

– Perform benchmarking versus competitors in terms of performance and best practices.

– Responsible to determine all areas of internal vulnerability that could be exploited by the competitors.

– Accountable to provide alerts or warning concerning environment and competition threats.

– Develop ways to transform needs in information of the company in term of data research and availability.

– Responsible to identify areas for improvement within marketing departments and to implement analytical solutions in order to resolve issues.

– Develop approaches to monitor and to optimize the relationship between MTN Cameroon and subscriptions (external data suppliers).

– Responsible to Initiate and implement relevant research survey (Nationwide & focused by region/Province)

– Build Geographical information system, and provide all geographical KPI to stakeholders.
