Job Description

Operational Delivery

  • Strategy Development

_ Ensure the application of Group Business Planning strategy recommendations across Regional entities

_ Drive Solution roadmap and Technologies choice

_ Support translation of commercial demand into radio strategies to be adopted in near term plans.

_ Consolidate Regional team inputs for access network business plan preparation

_ Support development of 2G, 3G, LTE Radio Network strategies and other key technology projects.

_ Ensure and maintain Regulatory compliance as per the terms defined within the License

_Ensure Vendor selection for service delivery during tender follows MTN framework guidelines.

  • Planning & Delivery.

_ Produce detailed and comprehensive designs for Project implementation and radio network optimization.

_ Align planning with other functions through design authority and integrated network planning activities

_ Suggest and track the implementation of wireless features and processes across regional entities which will result in improvement of network quality and without compromising its profitability.

_Drive capacity planning base on inputs received from Regional entities and iterate the process in other to achieve Market demand/forecast.

_Translate high level plan to low level design as well as specify detailed configuration setting of design in accordance with Regional entities.

  • Planning of sites.

_Achieve the most efficient cost-effective design of RF installation which will satisfy the market demand by reusing leftover materials.

_ Consider cost of installation, market requirements and expected traffic, environmental management legislation and knowledge of the existing radio access network.

_ Specify hardware/software requirements for implementation.

_ Ensure drive test of site after integration is duly validated by Regional entities

_ Assist in testing and approval of any new equipment to be used in the radio network.

_ Ensure all new equipment introduced in the network are homologated as per regulation recommendation.

_ Give guidance, assistance and high-level support to Radio Planning and Optimisation Engineers in regions on 2G,3G and LTE network optimisation and         performance issues.

_ Perform a good communication and co-ordination.

_ Communicate plans and integrate feedback.

_ Co-operate with and support other departments at all levels

_ Cooperate with other departments within MTN.

_ Monitor all competitor Network radio access strategy.

Education:

  • Master Degree in Electric/Electronic/telecommunications engineering or equivalent.

Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in an area of specialization.
  • Experience in supervising others is an advantage.
  • Experience working in a medium organization

Training

  • 2G System Survey.
  • 3G Capacity Planning and dimensioning.
  • UMTS & LTE planning and optimization
  • RAN next technologies including 5G and Open RAN.
  • Achieving Performance Excellence & Line Effectiveness Management.

  • Dial in facility will be required as to have access to certain databases when out in the field – mobile data modem and sim card provided.
