JOB DESCRIPTION
The purpose of the HR/Admin officer is to provide Human Resources/Admin support to the various human resource functions in the NRC Field office in Buea which include recruitment, staffing, training and development, performance monitoring and employee counselling
RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific responsibilities
The HR/Admin Officer is expected to achieve the following during this contract period:
Provide support to supervisors and staff to develop the skills and capabilities of staffs.
Provide information to staff, supervisors on human resource and work-related issues.
Daily Supervision of cook/cleaners.
Promoting equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organization.
Coordinate with relevant partners, suppliers, authorities, lawyers, Pension Office, Medical insurance company
Support recruitment process
Organize induction pack/work support tools
Preparation of contracts for both casual workers and full-time workers.
Ensure that office and guest house supplies are requested for and timely distributed.
Plan and follow-up the renewal of staff annual medicals checkups.
Assist in designing and implementing best HR policies: sourcing, talent management, career, and succession planning, etc. when applicable.
Ensure legal compliance at all times by monitoring and implementing applicable HR requirements as per working documents: Labour code, Collective agreement of INGO’s, and all other by laws.
Ensure compliance to NRC performance management cycle.
Undertake any other duties which may be requested by the Line Manager/ and or management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Professional competencies
These are skills, knowledge and experience that are important for effective performance.
Generic professional competencies:
Proven practical experience in the planning and execution of HR/Admin functions of at least 2 years’ experience in a humanitarian and development programme preferably with an INGO;
Experience in staff management and development and supervisory roles;
Proficiency in Microsoft office tools (Word, power point and Excel);
Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts;
Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities;
Fluency in English and work knowledge of French are required;
Experience in report writing.
Minimum of a BSc degree in HR/Law/Business Administration or any other related field
Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience:
Knowledge of South-West and North-West Regions Context, use, habit and local language;
Ability to work under pressure, independently and with limited supervision;
Highest standard of ethics and integrity;
Ability to work in insecure environments;
Communicating with respect;
Good analytical skills, with an ability to translate analysis into recommendations for practical action, including concept note and proposal development;
Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills;
Cultural sensitivity.

We offer :
Beginning: March 2023
Duration of the contract: 12 months, renewable depending on the availability of funds
Salary / Benefits: In accordance with NRC’s Salary Grid.
Duty station: Buea with 25% of displacement on the field
