The Opportunity
Lead and ensure that Procurement and Supply Chain strategy are executed effectively and in in line with the company’s goals and objective, to improve productivity, efficiency and reduce costs while securing high quality material for the company.
Ensure sourcing, procurement, materials planning, transportation, logistics, warehousing, and contract administration activities/ plans are well integrated and seamlessly executed to achieve business objectives while meeting cost, quality, innovation, and time-bound standards.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and guidance as a member of the functional leadership team.
Own and communicate Procurement & Supply Chain’s strategic and operational priorities to all internal stakeholders. Control the financial and manpower budget for Procurement & Supply Chain
Define and implement the strategic supply chain plan through actionable programs and projects which meet the evolving needs of the business.
Direct and control strategic sourcing of equipment, outsourcing of maintenance, non-technical spend, contract administration and supplier performance management.
Lead commercial engagements and negotiations across complex products and services.
Apply broad and deep subject matter expertise to solve complex Supply Chain issues and initiatives, connect technical concerns to contract performance, and proactively identify and resolve problems/ concerns.
Ensure procurement and contract management strategies are well aligned to the company’s strategic and operational plans.
Oversee the team design, ensure ongoing capability enhancement, and maintain a collaborative and accountable team culture.
Ensure local requirements are addressed in Global design templates.
Liaise with Group Category teams to align sourcing priorities, provide local input and where appropriate, implement global agreements through local supply chains.
Oversee communication and implementation of Procurement & Supply Chain policies, processes, and procedures.
Oversee the company’s procurement, contracting and tendering processes for all categories of goods and services.
Ensure appropriate risk/ benefit analyses are conducted for major procurement decisions.
Communicate with the leadership team on Supply Chain issues and opportunities.
Implement and maintain best practices and continuous improvement initiatives which eliminate inefficiencies and enhance performance in the company’s supply chain.
Ensure proper controls are embedded in the procurement process to achieve consistent quality and protect the company’s operational and financial interests.
Review and approve standardized metrics and improvement goals to enable ongoing evaluation of supplier performance and risks.
Review and approve supplier selection criteria. Participate in evaluation and selection of suppliers and provide inputs to negotiation of contracts.
Prepare and compile agreed periodic activity and performance reports for attention of the CFO/CEO.
Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the CFO and VP Procurement and Supply Chain.
Key Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain/ Logistics, or related discipline. Advanced Specialist Master’s, MBA and/ or relevant professional certifications, e.g. Certified Purchaser (CIPS) will be an asset.
Demonstrated experience of influencing change in senior management
Must have strong understanding of best practices in inventory management, warehouse management, and demand planning.
Demonstrable ability to lead Procurement & Supply Chain teams.
Languages: Fluent English and French
