Reporting to the Head of Tax, the Tax Associate has the responsibility of supporting the team in execution of tax processes, in accordance with current legislation and within per-established deadlines.

Responsibilities

Responsible for highly tax technical and complex tax compliance work for all countries in Africa, with special focus on OHADA countries;

Assessment of companies’ internal procedures to identify and mitigate eventual risks and uncertain tax positions;

Involvement in general taxes issues, especially regarding tax compliance matters;

Provide technical support to the Tax Controversy group in relation to the various tax audits and controversy cases;

Collaborate with other functional tax and finance groups to provide an integrated approach to support business needs;

Technical assistance on tax projects on a demand basis.

Who we are looking for

Bachelor’s Degree is required

Certification or Master’s in Taxation and Accounting is required

MBA, and/or LL.M with concentration in tax is an advantage

Minimum of 5 years of relevant tax accounting and compliance experience

OHADA training and experience are required

Experience in a corporate environment with global operations, Audit companies (Big Four)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to perform critical analysis, prioritize and problem solving

Strong interpersonal skills with ability to foster a collaborative, team environment and matrix organizations

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and ability to thrive in a change environment

Results oriented: demonstrate ability to handle multiple projects, effectively prioritize, and execute

Fluent written and spoken English & French

Others

Ability to work in a VUCA World (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity)

Willingness to travel
