Role Responsibilities/ Responsabilités du rôle

Core mission :

Under the supervision of the Radio & Telecommunications Project Manager, the Technical Radio Hub Officer shall improve on the quality of the radio service through monitoring, preventive and curative maintenance of radio and related equipment as well as oversee skill transfer to members of operational units.

Main Activities and Duties

Supervise installation works and approve commissioning ;

Audit infrastructure;

Approve specifications relating to technical services for Radio telecommunication ;

Propose and develop the maintenance strategy.

Profile needed

Master’s degree minimum in the field of electrical energy or telecoms;

At least 3 years of experience in the field of electrical energy or telecoms ;

A Category B driving license would be a plus.

Technical Skills

Have proper mastery of analogue and digital radio communications ;

How know to perform data transfer through SCADA systems ;

Have good mastery of international safety norms that apply to radio systems ;

Have proper mastery of norms and procedures that apply to the telecommunications sector in Cameroon ;

Know how to analyse and detect faults in a radio transmission system ;

Know how to use computer tools and telecoms software;

Have good mastery of office software (word processing, spreadsheet, presentation …) ;

Master norms, standards and procedures Know QHSE (Quality Hygiene Safety Environment) norms, standards and procedures (ISO (International Organization for Standardization), OHSAS (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series), ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) ;

Know how to initialise and follow-up the design of a project ;

Know how to present and explain the guidelines of policy for telecom and distribution network maintenance ;

Know how to use equipment meant to measure ground resistance and soil resistivity ;

Know how to use the appropriate operating mode for work carried out on equipment ;

Know how to audit radio infrastructure ;

Know radio equipment programming software and auxiliary power sources ;

Bilingualism would be an asset.
