Job description :
We are looking for a candidate with exceptional formative, analytical and interpersonal skills for the role of Assistant to the Internship Programme Manager. Under the direction of the Internship Programme Manager, the Assistant will provide effective and efficient operational and administrative assistance to the management (Internship Programme Manager, Director of Programmes and Head of Operations) and other members of the Foundation to ensure the smooth implementation of the internship programme action plans.
He/she will also perform a variety of administrative, coordination and logistical services in support of programme operations (including monitoring and evaluation), grants and assist in the management of key data and information for the programme team to ensure quality implementation of the internship programme.
Main responsibilities
To provide effective and efficient support to the Internship Programme Manager, to enable the successful delivery of the Internship Programme Action Plan. Specifically, this will involve assistance in the recruitment of interns, the organisation of their training, the monitoring and evaluation of their activities.
Provide administrative, logistical and information management support to the Internship Programme Manager, Head of Operations and other team members, as well as planning and coordination of activities, meetings, workshops and budgets related to the internship programme.
Implement monitoring and evaluation of internship programme activities within Foretia Foundation to capture intern performance results,
Participate in the development of an internal monitoring system of interns’ activities.
Participate in the monitoring of interns’ tasks at virtual and physical events.
Key qualifications and skills
Bachelor’s degree or higher in project management, political science, business administration, international development or a related discipline. A Master’s degree would be a great asset.
Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation in a non-profit organisation ;
Fluency in English and French
Good skills in training, report writing and other documentation
Willingness to work towards the vision and objectives of the internship programme ; Conscientious;
Excellent communication skills: speaking, writing and listening.
Proven ability to prioritise and manage time effectively
Proven ability to work both independently and as an effective member of a team.
Proven ability to prioritise and manage multiple ongoing assignments.
Ability to think critically in ambiguous situations to achieve results.
Experience in quantitative analysis and statistical, spreadsheet and/or database software, such as Excel.
