Job Role Summary

The Pipeline Right of Way (ROW) Civil Engineer reports to the ETS Maintenance Superintendent. This assignment relates to field supervision of all maintenance activities on the ROW.

Key responsibilities will include:

• managing projects;
• pipeline maintenance;
• design and implementation of ROW erosion repairs;
• design and construction of simple earth roads;
• review of third party engineering structure design for crossing the pipeline;
• ROW trees cutting supervision.

Expected Level of Proficiency

Ideal candidate profile:

Educational: Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent discipline

Professional Experience and Knowledge required:

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the oil and gas or equivalent industry
• Competence in Civil engineering works (Education and experience)
• Competence in pipeline maintenance (Experience)
• Competence in designing and implementing erosion repairs (Experience)
• Competence in designing and constructing simple earth roads (Experience)
• Competence in GPS navigation (Experience)
• Competence in project management, budget and cost control
• Management of Change (MOC) control from initiation to completion, documents and training included
• Management of Projects from Design Basis Memorandum to completion, schedule and budget control
• Control of the maintenance of equipment in his domain of competencies on SAP data base.
• Periodic reports on MOCs, projects and maintenance progress
• Experience in Safety, Health, Equipment integrity and Environment management systems
• Experience in contractor monitoring and supervision

Skills and attributes required:

• Good communication and teamwork skills;
• Fluency in oral and written English (ability to prepare written reports in English is essential)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and basic knowledge of Computerized Maintenance
• Knowledge of AUTOCAD software
• Knowledge of Projects and Work Management Systems
• Good problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Excellent customer relations
• Ability to effectively work and timely deliver expected results with no supervision
• Knowledge of the COTCO pipeline ROW accesses is an added advantage
