About the Portfolio Transformation Team

The Portfolio Transformation team is comprised of an elite group of experienced investment professionals who are focused on improving our portfolio management capabilities.   In partnership with senior researchers and technologists, this team is delivering a multi-year transformation that will support new investment strategies and capabilities and is critical to maintaining the firm’s edge in markets and portfolio management.

About the Team

The Portfolio Transformation team:

Is comprised of experienced investment professionals who have a deep understanding of portfolio management and trading. In conjunction with our partners in research and technology – defines, implements, and carries the target-state vision of the portfolio renovation

Is directly responsible for managing and delivering the strategic projects on the portfolio renovation roadmap

Partners with technologists and researchers to constantly improve our processes, focusing on increasing efficiency or the implementation of new logic and portfolios

About Your Role

You will drive the following responsibilities:

Understand Bridgewater’s broad investment objectives, strategies, clients, the products and markets we trade, and the investment lifecycle across multiple departments​

Partner with senior investment professionals to solve business problems and create solutions to meet client or investment needs​.

Drive the implementation of a major multi-year portfolio implementation renovation related to investment, commercial, counterparty, regulatory, risk, technology and market changes; partnering with our teams across the firm to implement these changes​.

Manage individual projects and workstreams related to the portfolio renovation effort – it is likely these projects will include elements of technology, portfolio construction workflow, and new product implementation.

Provide visibility on business deliverable progress / synthesis / key risks to stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in financial services consulting, strategy or management consulting or similar role within a financial institution

Familiarity with financial markets and financial instruments.

Experience with program/project management including framing and structuring ambiguous problems, requirement gathering and solutioning.

Grasp of market and industry trends.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with or interest in portfolio construction, portfolio implementation, algorithmic and electronic trading.

Physical Requirements:

For most of our roles, Bridgewater offers remote work flexibility, with most employees required to work on campus as their principal work location, a minimum of two days (and in some cases three days) per week with the option to work offsite on other days.
