To plan, develop and implement strategies to meet agreed organisational performance targets and plans. Identifying commercial opportunities and driving growth across all business areas Responsible for overall business growth, development and performance.
Develop and implement sales strategies, tools and processes in line with overall DHL guidelines
Drive the country market growth and customer retention
Review and advise on pricing, product mix, and brand portfolio policies
Support customer strategies, contract negotiations and supply chain management strategy
Define improvement areas based on pipeline reporting in collaboration with commercial effectiveness
Analyze the value of key technologies and industry development and identifies change needs within the sales function
Review and monitors sales performance periodically and refines sales strategies as required in discussion within the regions
Develop and implement commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growth
Act to acquire new customers and manage client relationships (new and existing)
Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reports for SMT
Understand the value drivers of the business and identifying profitable commercial opportunities to grow revenue and market share
Develop and oversee the yearly commercial budget
Monitor and control the commercial budget on a monthly basis
Decide all major commercial projects within country
Ensure that all commercial activities meet or improve on budget, cost, volume and efficiency targets (Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)) in line with business objectives
Education and experience
University degree and relevant commercial / business qualifications.
Significant experience in Senior management or General management experience in the express / logistics / aviation industry or within similar service related businesses (Minimum of 10 years in Logistics industry and 5 years’ experience leading a commercial or sales team)
Business related qualification NQF Level 6
Post-graduate qualification in Management
Exceptional leader and motivator of people that displays exceptional DHL leadership attributes.
Must be able to Speak and Write fluently in English & French
Valid Driver’s License
