ELECTRICITY FORECAST ENGINEER CHARGED WITH GENERATION & DEMAND OPTIMISATION, INGÉNIEUR EN PRÉVISION ÉLECTRIQUE CHARGÉ DE L’OPTIMISATION DE LA GÉNÉRATION ET DE LA DEMANDE, Douala, Eneo Cameroun

Role Responsibilities/ Responsabilités du rôle

Core mission :

The electricity engineer tasked with generation optimisation and demand forecasting helps attain the short-term optimisation objectives of the team tasked with ensuring supply-demand balance in the company.

Main activities and duties

Analyse generation gaps and make appropriate recommendations ;

Implement methods to detect outliers and replace them;

Design and update forecast models for short term demand ;

Prepare methods to forecast regional and spatial loads  ;

Render demand flexible (consumption demand response), making it possible to optimise the placement of generation means ;

Analyse consumption to identify factors that drive changes in demand;

Prepare the Optimised Short Term generation plan ;

Prepare daily forecast load curves;

Calculate marginal generation costs ;

Prepare a short-term demand forecast;

Prepare scenarios relating to changes in demand to drive short and medium dispatch;

Monitor dispatch execution in coordination with the company tasked with power transmission (SONATREL);

Your profile

At least Master’s degree in electricity-related studies, mathematics or statistics ;

At least one (1) year of experience in electricity-related studies or statistics;

Technical skills

Proper mastery of the electricity sector in Cameroon;

Proper mastery of electricity generation;

Proper mastery of simulations for LHV electricity networks ;

Proper mastery of statistics;

Proper mastery of econometrics and modelling;

Proper mastery of Microsoft Office pack and tools such as MATLAB and SIMULATION TOOL.

People person & good communication skills.
