Role Responsibilities/ Responsabilités du rôle

Enko La Gaieté Primary Campus is looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic principal. Enko La Gaieté Campus opened its primary school in 2018 and offers the Cambridge curriculum at nursery and primary level. It is the 3rd campus of Enko Education in Cameroon, after the secondary schools in Yaoundé and in Douala. The primary campus currently counts 108 students and 15 teachers and teaching assistants. We expect the campus to grow to at least 150 students next academic year.

The Principal of the Primary School will be responsible for the general management and the academic results of the primary campus. S/he will be reporting to the Head of Cameroon Schools and s/he will be working closely with academic and administrative staff across the campuses.

The selected candidate will start by mid-August 2022.

The role of the Enko principal includes:

General management at campus level, of all subjects related to:

Education, in line with “Standards & Practices”, the Operating Manual, the Culture of Enko Education and the requirements of the Cambridge Curriculum

Daily team management (teaching & non teaching staff)

Human Capital Management

Recruitment of teachers and teaching assistants

Professional development of teachers

Performance management for teachers, according to the Enko Education processes.

Monitoring of the school’s results

Pilot the achievement of student recruitment objectives

Pilot and initiate new ideas or coordinate all required activities in order to achieve the KPIs on exam results

Management of retention rate: ensure the satisfaction of students, their parents and the team (employees)

Ensure timely collection of tuition fees

Collaboration with the Country Head of School to achieve the EBITDA objective of the campus

Management of Operations, and Health and Safety

We expect our Principals to be active ambassadors of Enko Education in their campus. This includes:

Participation in all academic, non-academic and marketing activities

Anchorage of the Enko culture and values the minds of all stakeholders

Regular detailed reporting to the Country Head of Schools with regards to campus life (students, parents, team, Enko central, suppliers…) and key events.

The ideal candidate:

Is an experienced Cambridge teacher

Has experience with delivering an international curriculum

Is an university graduate; higher degrees are an asset

Has at least 5 years of teaching experience

Has at least one experience with a leadership role in a (primary) school

Has full professional proficiency in both French and English

Possesses high cultural intelligence and sensitivity

Is at ease with data collection and analysis and its usage in teaching and learning

Expected soft skills and  abilities:

Rigorous: precise in their reports, respectful of instructions, deadlines and commitments

Organized and capable of leading a number of “projects” at the same time

Results-oriented: permanent follow-up of main KPIs: pays attention to continuous improvement

Undeniable team spirit: invests in relationships, constructive in speaking, able to build a trustful environment in the campus

Leader: able to inspire others and to lead, also in difficult situations, problem-solver,  solutions driven, proactive

Facilitator:  impactful in his/her communication, good mentor, good at explaining

Eager to learn: curious and open-minded
