The Purpose

To deliver excellent information and communications technology (ICT) services and support to the business across Cameroon under the strategic oversight from Group IT to ensure global strategic goals and regional workplace needs are delivered.

This involves providing first level for IT service support which includes provisioning, deployment, maintenance/support of the network, telephony, computing/technology devices and equipment, system/application software to ensure workplace productivity.

Key Responsibilities

Prompt resolution of all computer hardware and software related complaints and incidents.

Prompt fulfillment of service requests to ensure the user returns to work satisfactorily.

Ensure workplace facilities are adequate for the installation, set-up, and provisioning of IT services where applicable e.g. server rooms, internet links, fiber routes, etc.

Review diagnostics and assess the functionality and efficiency of network equipment and servers

Education of end users and the provision of feedback regarding IT related queries/enquires.

Perform effective end-user interrogation for initial diagnosis and information gathering in the resolution of complaints.

Identify, categorize and classify all logged complaints using an ITSM application to build the knowledgebase accurately.

Minimize interruptions in users’ ability to carry out critical business activities.

Ensure prompt escalation/ticket re-assignment of complex and/or unresolved incidents to the 2nd Level Support for resolution, in line with agreed OLA.

Run diagnostic programs or tools for root cause determination and problem resolution.

Diagnose and resolve software and hardware problems or incident that is disrupting the IT systems or services.

Perform user/system administration to enable end users access systems and execute job function.

Perform proactive performance and availability monitoring of IT systems, applications, tools and services required to provide services to end users.

Assist in the installation, updates and/or upgrades of applications required for end users to function optimally.

Assist in Coordinating and fulfillment of IT Projects deliverables and initiatives.

Perform routine maintenance on systems, applications, work/productivity tools, and devices to ensure reliability and information security policy compliance.

Ensure all operational documents and vendor supporting documents are up-to-date and maintained in the approved shared library repository/location only.

Systematically analyze performance data and communicate findings to the Manager, West Africa Managed Workplace /senior experts.

Escalate incident and security risks, with recommendations for mitigation to the Manager, West Africa Managed Workplace.

Accurately and carefully follow established policies, processes, and procedures in the fulfillment of requests and resolution of incidents.

Perform system confirmation to identify issues have been resolved and free from errors, as well as end users’ confirmation of satisfaction before ticket closure.

Ensure workplace facilities are adequate for the installation, set-up, and provisioning of IT services where applicable e.g. server rooms, internet links, fiber routes, etc.

Where applicable, coordinate and/or collaborate with facilities, physical security, and relevant units on workplace projects and initiatives that have a dependency relationship with IT e.g. access control system, UPS back-up, network-based surveillance system, etc.

Provide recommendations and suggestions on optimizing the unit’s operational performance to the Manager, West Africa Managed Workplace

Key Requirements

Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or Information Technology

Two (2) to Four (4) years experience in IT user support, helpdesk environment and IT system administration

Certifications in any of the following: ITIL Foundation, CompTIA (A+) and/or Microsoft MCSA.
