Maviance PLC is a digital financial services provider that develops, operates and grows a technological platform that focuses on increasing and facilitating access to digital financial services (including bill & payment aggregation, retail payments, agent banking, corporate & bulk payments) to people, companies and government entities of all income level across Cameroon.

Maviance PLC is engaging in its expansion phase in Cameroon and within the CEMAC (Central African) region with the goal of establishing the company as the #1 leading player in the Fintech and Digital Financial space.

To support our rapidly growing business and operations, we are looking for an Head of Operations to oversee, manage and optimize our organization’s technical operation and support activities.

You will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing the activities and communication between the business and technical departments across product, development after-sales and support functions. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be a key leader in the team ensuring that our customers and partners experience a triple A service.

Strong people and communication skills, business judgment, knowledge of tools and technologies, deep experience of operational management and associated best practices and a keen focus on user engagement are essential.

Your main duties and responsibilities for this role include:

Daily ownership and management of all operations: you will make sure our partners and agents are efficiently and effectively processing payments in our platforms, maximizing value along the value chain

Build and develop an exceptional operations management team: you’ll guide, support and coach the respective team leads so they can effectively run their teams and become better managers themselves. Building a solid managerial structure with your direct reports will be an essential element of success for this role as the team scales with our business

We strive for an outstanding customer service. You will ensure these high standards are maintained and constantly improved

You will be managing our partner onboarding end-to-end and coordinating with the engineering teams to support partner integrations

You will be looking to identify operational patterns, improvement opportunities, anomalies, etc. as well as management metrics, KPIs, etc.

Analysis and implementation of recommendations, but delivering operational efficiency and improvements will be your responsibility

You will liaise with our product teams to make sure they develop the tools we need to optimise how we deploy our operational resources

Together with our Compliance team ensure all aspects of our operations are compliant with relevant regulatory requirements

Together with our Finance team ensure reconciliation with all partners are performed regularly to catch discrepancies.


Qualifications and Experience

MUST: Excellent command of English & French Language: Reading, Writing, Speaking

You have at least 5+ years of experience in a comparable role in a fast-growing/scale-up environment where you have worked on a variety of projects. Ideally in a role within our industry

You thrive in a fast-paced environment and you’re not afraid to be “hands-on” to get it done.

You have a passion for learning, innovation and finding new efficiencies.

You have demonstrated strong project management skills

You possess very strong process improvement skills and can identify inefficiencies in existing processes.

You understand ITIL processes and have at least worked with them in the past or even better implemented them

You are of the M-Shaped Type with deep as well as broad knowledge and experience in multiple areas

You have strong organizational skills and attention to detail and can handle multiple demands and competing and changing priorities.

You are proactive and you take ownership.

You are comfortable with collaboration tools and technology
