Without it, the daily clearance, settlement and execution of a trillion dollars’ worth of trades and the weekly movement of tens of billions of dollars in dozens of world currencies would come to a complete standstill.

Responsibilities

Job Purpose:

Oversight through the dedicated FX control unit with senior leadership on:

– Regulatory Vetting (Documentation completeness review…),

– Regulatory compliance (Local compliance scrutiny, Prefinancing, Clearance, regulators engagement, customer engagement, Excon training…),

– Regulatory Reporting.

under the direct supervision of the Cameroon O&T Head.

Dedicated point for FX reviews

Build good relationship with the regulator to influence the Citi Agenda

Aligns with competitors’ operational model

Proactive approach and management to FX control risks

Implement management metrics to ensure proper and effective understanding of the unit activities in line with main EXCON requirements

Recommend and implement operation strategy, short term plans and objectives in line with the overall business plan developed by the CCO and the MEA Operations and Technology chain.

Develop and End to End oversight on EXCON related transactions, ensuring adequate procedures are in place to handle all the activities, including, but not limited to 48H TAT process; repatriation; prefinancing; review of supporting documents for compliance with the regulation requirements; respect of requirements related to inflows; domiciliation and clearance; regulatory reporting…

Implement adequate oversight on OIL and Gas companies

Establish, maintain and enhance communications with the appropriate line areas. Act as the operations customer link to facilitate the flow of information, to develop the necessary support systems, and to insure the achievement of business objective.

Be hands-on-hand be involved in day-to-day operations when required

Efficiency and automation:

Bring efficiency to the processes for more productivity and to enables to take on additional volume

Identify Manual Touch points in the aim to minimize them through automation, streamlining of activities …

Standard processes for all clients with a view to digitize wherever possible

People:

Manage human, processing and systems resources to maximize quality and quantity of service while reducing cost.

Manage the short- and long-term career plan and development of the resources under the EXCON unit

Implement training plan to ensure proper mastering of the exchange control processes with less complaint from the customers, internal stakeholders and regulators

Service and customer experience:

Promote a culture of service excellence and quality assurance, championing the concept of continuous improvement in business processes, combined with controls appropriate to the level of risk.

Make quality service delivery an integral part of operating culture in the bank

Controls:

Ensure enhancement and maintenance of internal controls to reduce/control risks and to improve operations standards in Citibank Gabon.

Develop monthly management metrics and Perform monthly analytical review of balances, transaction, providing meaningful explanations for variances.

Perform other activities as assigned by the department head

Stakeholder management:

Establish preferred relationship with the regulators

Promotes the Citi agenda through tough leadership and bold preferred relation with regulators

Promotes good relationship with internal stakeholders

Qualifications:

Knowledge/Experience:

Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in operations management covering:

Treasury Operations

Record Management

Continuity Of Business (COB)

Cash Management Operations

Control and Compliance

Outsourced Activities Management

Deep understanding of the CEMAC Exchange control regulation

Education:

Bachelor / University degree in Finance, Accounting,Business, Bank or equivalent
