ROLE CONTEXT

Supervise the activities of the gateway sort. To ensure that daily operational productivity, quality and cost targets are met and standard procedures are followed, provide leadership and motivation to staff and to monitor their productivity, development and satisfaction. Receive shipment, nationwide on van, SBU and ground distribution, inspect for acceptability, and correct documentation and process for export.

To ensure that daily operational productivity, quality and cost targets are met and Global Standard operational procedures are followed. To ensure the processing of shipments received in the gateway to their various local and international destination.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure that all shipment are made visible in the network through the creation of appropriate checkpoint codes.

Ensure that customer’s expectations on DHL services are met through prompt shipment transfer.

Support the effective implementation and deployment of regional and country projects, programmes and initiatives within gateway.

Ensure that daily operational targets are met and take actions to reverse identified areas of underperformance.

Ensure compliance to regional and country processes policies and procedure and any local external regulation requirements, that relates to the operational services provided.

Carry out the receipt and inspection (outbound) scanning and sorting of shipments into various routes in LOS nationwide and international, to enhance timely processing of materials.

Evaluate identify and ensure the capture of appropriates checkpoints at every stage of shipment movement within the LBV Gateway in order to ensure shipment race-ability.

Ensure that appropriate inspection is carried out on outbound materials for content acceptability and packaging in order to prevent damage or delay, as well as reduce customer’s dissatisfaction.

Ensure that every outbound materials is accompanied by appropriate documentation in order to facilitate clearance at destination.

Ensure that complete WPX transmission and pre-alert are sent to transit/final destination and the CIA of every document is done to enhance faster recovery and shipment processing through customs so as to enhance transit time.

Ensure compliance with DHL security policies and procedures, standards for damaged/MC/MS shipments management.

Ensure warehouse equipment are kept in optimum operating conditions to warrant an efficient operation.

Ensure team work with other gateway staff.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum English language skills required both written and oral.

Valid driver’s licence and excellent driving skills.

PC Literacy (PC GOP; HIC; GEMA: Advance; QSMS; Outlook; Excel).
