Your mission:

The European Technology Chamber (EUTECH) is a registered NGO that enables European companies to use their technologies for the benefit of Europe and mankind – following our vision “Technology obliges”. The EUTECH has three main goals: strengthen Europe‘s Competitiveness and transformation capabilities in its global positioning, Sustainability – leverage innovation, key technologies and business opportunities to achieve the 17 United Nations´ Sustainable Development Goals and Growth – build bridges to international markets and establish shared value partnerships for an inclusive growth path.

EUTECH’s latest vision bears a concrete impact on climate and sustainability in Africa, powered by our Africa – EU Alliance and the Climate Action Partnership : The goal is to implement its own major tree planting projects in order to support current and future sustainability initiatives (e.g. tree certificates, carbon credit compensation projects) with associated socio-economic activities in the three African countries – Ethiopia, Ghana and Senegal – over the next two years.

For each of these countries we are looking for local Interns to act as

Project Coordinators (m/f/d) in Ghana, Rwanda and Uganda

The internship will start in the first months of 2022 and last for at last six months. The Intern will be responsible for taking the first steps in this major project, with the aim of planning the program, finding partners and identifying a suitable location for the tree nursery and the socio-economic projects.

Your tasks will include in detail:

Detailed milestone planning of the program

Identification of suitable land and discuss land conditions

Pre-qualification and negotiations with local stakeholders

Definition, planning and execution of infrastructure requirements

Regular reporting to the European management

To implement these challenging tasks, you will bring the following qualifications:

At least a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following subjects: biology, geo-sciences, ecology or sustainability

Major field of study in rural development, agricultural sciences or sustainable development

First practical experience in an international organization or company

Good regional knowledge and a basic network

Basic project management skills

Excellent organizational and communication skills

Very good knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Fluency in written and oral English

To ensure communication with European and African stakeholders, you should have your own computer with a very good internet connection. An MS-Office license and Exchange will be provided by EUTECH.
