Description
Assala Energy is a young and dynamic Oil and Gas Exploration and Production company with an exciting operated asset base in Gabon, firm core values and a keen sense of responsibility to our employees and stakeholders. Our business and teams continue to grow and evolve and as a result we are now looking for a highly competent Payroll and Administration Lead who is aligned to our values and operating principles.
As a key contributing member of our Port Gentil based Human Resources team, you will be responsible for the management of the day-to-day operations of all HR Personnel administrative and payroll-related matters in compliance with our HR procedures, policies and applicable local regulations.
You will manage a team of 5 and have regular interactions with both internal and external stakeholders including the leadership team and the Local Administration.
Key activities include:
Process salary and benefit payments and deductions accurately and on time
Ensure interface between our HR Information System (Success Factors) and the external payroll provider is running smoothly
Deliver efficient and accurate HR Administration processes and support
Ensure that policies and processes are applied fairly and in compliance with regulations
Review computations for compliance with local income tax system
Manage immigration support to employees and visitors in line with the business needs.
Ensure timely and correct payments of CNSS (Social Security), taxes, pension funds, on a monthly or quarterly basis
Maintain, contact and engage relevant authorities at regular intervals
Produce salaries data for payroll costs reallocation each month
Review and Analysis of payroll reports and payroll systems
Reconcile and monitor payroll balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
Administer Local and expatriate Staff Pension Fund (payment of contributions to Asset Manager, payment to leavers, accounting for the pension fund results and distribution of income to each member)
Communicate Local Staff Pension Fund status to employees
Provide key performance indicators to senior management
manage, coach and develop subordinate team members
Continuous improvement and application of best practices
Requirements
You will succeed in this role if you are able to demonstrate rigor and reliability with a strong sense of discretion, given the sensitive data you will be managing. Additionally, you must have the following experience and competencies:
Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Accountancy or related with 5+ years of work experience in a similar capacity
Excellent knowledge of: Social Security Laws, Gabonese Labour Code, Fiscal Laws & regulations applicable to employee income
Ideally, you have previously processed payroll using Success Factors or a similar HR Information System
Experience leading a small team, with an interest in supporting own and others’ development
Dynamism to launch projects and demonstrable success in taking projects to completion
Fluency in English and French with excellent inter-personal and communication skills
This opportunity is offered on a CDD basis of 12 months with possible extension or conversion to CDI and it is based in Port Gentil, Gabon.
