As a Microsoft Gold Partner, my client is redefining Network, Cloud and Cyber Security offerings through strategic partnerships with leading global players, bringing innovative business applications, intelligent cloud services and world-class security to the African continent.

As part of an expansion strategy, my client is on-boarding new skills and talent, to bring its network connectivity closer to more people and accelerate the development of the digital workplace.

As part of their partnership with Microsoft, my Client is committed to building an indirect channel organization in at least 16 African countries. The company is looking for Partner Development Managers to further this aim.

Role & Candidate Profile

The company is looking for a Partner Development Manager, based in country that will report to Group Head of Strategic Partnerships.

You will be working across the organization, including the public sector and the CBO and in collaboration with other PDMs, in order to help partners transform and grow their business in the cloud by developing comprehensive plans for a portfolio of partners to identify short and long-term strategic goals and tactical execution. You will build strong relationships with Microsoft and partner resources to achieve set organisational goals.


Manage the revenue within the territory

Be responsible for all the cloud platform stakeholders, both within and external, to ensure that they are well informed and able to make the decisions which drive the appropriate direction of the cloud platform

Be responsible for knowing who the cloud platform’s customers are and understands their needs and motivation

Be responsible for risk and issue management, including mitigation and contingency execution

Be responsible for requirements management, quality management, scope management, cost management, resource management, schedule management and project integration management during the execution of projects

Be responsible for all partner reporting, analysis and insight

Be responsible for pricing report coordination and feedback to senior management

Liaise with all stakeholders on data segmentation and enrichment of information

Key Decisions:

Partner to engage and recruit

Go To Market (GTM) activities based on partner maturity and capability

Responsible for providing reporting, insight, summaries and analysis used in decision making

Monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements and provide informed business decisions

Key Performance Areas:


Number of Partners recruited

On-board, train, nurture and optimise partners as per the Company’s Partner Program

Workload balance as per KPI (Modern Workplace/Azure, or Dynamics)

Compile and present business cases your territory

Ensure profitability within your territory

Prepare quality presentations for the meetings/engagements

Execute on GTMs

Accountable to ensure partners payment is on time

The creation of partner specific business (growth) partners


Weekly performance reports to management, Microsoft, and other stakeholders

Weekly meetings with Microsoft TCMs to identify opportunities within your territory

Weekly meetings with BGs to understand workload developments


Weekly pipeline, and performance meetings with partners


First point of contact for partner escalations

Product knowledge to be able to guide partners

Handle escalations within The Company on behalf of your partners

Minimum requirements:

Fluent English written and verbal communication skills

Permanent residents only, no expats

Relevant Bachelor’s Post Graduate degree

Microsoft Azure or Modern Workplace certification

3-5 years’ working experience in a CSP (Cloud Solutions Provided) or distributor environment

3-5 years’ sales experience

Microsoft Product knowledge – Azure, Modern Workplace or Dynamics

Microsoft CSP or similar distributor knowledge

Business case creation, understanding, and validation

Go-to-market measurement, metrics, and creation

Skills required:

Expertise in partner management, licensing, and/or business management strongly desired

Challenger mentality leveraging internal and/or external resources, conflict resolution, and follow through

Strong partner relationship management and solution development skills

Inclusive and collaborative, driving teamwork and cross-team alignment

The expected base compensation is estimated to be 35-40,000 USD gross with expected cost to company salary of 50,000 USD per year in average plus other benefits in accordance with The Company’s policy.
