Role Responsibilities/ Responsabilités du rôle


Job Description :

  1. National Sales

Sales Management – Drive Sales & Distribution of Olam Palm products (packaged oil, soap) across Gabon.

Team management – Motivate and lead a team of 2 Sales managers and a team of 8 merchandisers.

Customer Management – Handle a customer base of 50 customers.

Government Bodies & Stake holder management – Work along with government bodies like DGCC, Department of Commerce, Customs for executing policy matters.

Commercial – Review and ensure the collection of outstanding credit from the market. Closely work with finance team to ensure the customer outstanding is recovered on time.

Availability – Ensure pan Gabon availability of products across towns and across channels. Increase share of shelf in stores.

Market Share – Track market share and devise schemes to increase market share in all categories and Increase Share of Shelf in stores.

Supply & Demand Monitoring – Develop mechanisms to track inflows of oil and soap and build strong understanding of the categories. Share weekly MIS on the inflows.

Forecasting – Project the monthly volumes by SKU and discuss with production team.

Marketing – Ensure marketing campaigns to create awareness of products as well as develop point of Sales material for in-store visibility. Create a visibility pipeline for collaterals to be deployed by the merchandising team.

New Product Development – Envision new SKUs as well as new products & categories to be launched. Work with local agencies for building consumer understanding surveys as well as develop concept, create value proposition as well as create brand identity and packaging design.

Warehouse Management – Ensure stocks are managed effectively in the warehouse in Libreville. Manage one warehouse assistant.

Transporter Management – Manage transporter team to ensure sufficient trucks are available for movement of FG from Lambarene. Approve transporter claims and ensure that it is settled on time.

Training – Ensure on the job coaching for the sales team.

Reporting – Create monthly BRM reports. Develop insights from analyzing data. Ensure daily reports are created though 1 MIS executive.

  1. Exports (Byproducts)

Byproduct Sales – FPR for driving sales of Stearin and Palm Fatty Acid Distillate to international and local customers. Ensure the pricing as well as realizations are higher than budget.

Customer management – Manage existing customers of byproducts. Build new customers through prospection. Work with customers to understand their specifications and interface with refinery team to supply stocks matching this.

Sales & Stocks Planning – Ensure stocks are managed by interacting with refinery team. Should build string order pipeline to ensure that there is never a constraint in tank space at the refinery.

Liners – Work along with multiple ocean liners to ensure shipping of products. Need to have good understanding on container availabilities, sailings, transit times, free days, etc.

Freight Rates Management – Work with central freight team based in India to negotiate rates with liners for different destinations.

Documentation – Interface along with teams like GSEZ, Agassa, Customs to ensure the necessary certificates and documents required for exports are completed.

Category Knowledge – Understand International S&D especially West-Central Africa and track daily prices for the byproducts to ensure best pricing is realized.

Finance – Work along with finance team to ensure invoicing, ensure payments are secured and risk is managed.

III.           Exports (Bulk)

Bulk Sales – Assist and execute the orders for CPO and CPKO.

Vessel Chartering – Interact with brokers/owners of vessels for chartering. Ensure charter part agreements are closed and freight payments are done on time.

Logistics – Manage the tanker fleet of OPG. Work along with GSEZ for making the plans for the CPO shuttle for the transfer of products from the plantation to the port.

Port Engineering team – Work along with the GSEZ team for tank farm management, monitoring stock levels, give loading instructions for the shipments.

Port Commercial team – Keep them informed of the export plans, vessel arrival dates. Get PDA for the vessel loading operations.

Documentation – Ensure all the documents required are prepared by working along with GSEZ team and Agassa, Customs.

Surveyors & Agents – Work with surveyors for conducting load port and discharge port surveys. In case of Cameroon shipments, ensure discharge port surveyor is appointed. Ensure payments for all agencies are processed on time.

Commercial – Monitor all costs for the shipments and create TCB for all shipments from mill gate till the vessel. Hold monthly meetings with fiance team to reconcile the costings.

Reports – Weekly reports to be circulated to all stake holders – Palm Product Realization report, Sales Forecast report

Hedges – Record BMD hedges done by the EO trading team. Circulate the open positions report with risk office and other stake holders.
