Role Responsibilities/ Responsabilités du rôle
The Communications Manager will work under the Head of Communications reporting to Director-General Congolaise Industrielle des Bois.
As a Communications Manager, you are a steward of the strategy, development and implementation of internal and external communication, digital content and channel management for all social media channels of Congolaise Industrielle des Bois.
You are the custodian of existing communications platforms and channels, a team-lead to a studio of four content creators and multiple freelancers, an interlocutor between local communications at CIB and global communications with Olam Global Agri (Olam International).
At heart, you are a digital storyteller, a great listener, love understanding cultures and interpreting narratives to weave and craft communication.
You are passionate about communications as a function and fascinated by how it connects, works and are dedicated to your career in this field.
You love planning well in advance.
Multitasker with the ability to anticipate and act at a short notice.
You are fond of keeping up with changing world of digital identities and ensure the primary identity of CIB is in shape every day.
A deep understanding of the uniqueness of the top 5 social media handles, ability to repurpose and optimise content accordingly.
Manage content for our stakeholders in the region and globally.
Follow digital and social media trends consistently, pre-empt and act on them.
Print and Digital Properties
Own various properties and ensure the smooth functioning of communication via the platforms, channels.
Quick learning in understand diverse mediums and the target audience they cater to.
Team Lead and Interdepartmental Coordination
Liaise with Corporate Communications and Internal Communications to synergise communication, ensure consistency with the holistic Olam narrative and campaigns, maintaining smooth communication with these counterparts who are spread globally in all time zones.
Ensure regional and local regulations are adhered to – in collaboration with subject matter experts in Forestry – across all current- and future-state digital platforms.
Assist in developing and communicating complex forestry concepts, sustainability themes with a team of in-house content creators, internal and external communications leads and local community experts.
Measure content effectiveness and campaign success by monitoring defined KPIs, with expertise in tools that enable streamlining.
Ability to memorise, adapt and optimise content, style, photography and media guidelines of Olam.

Masters degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or Digital Communication.
A minimum of 5 years of handling a team of communicators, a studio or a diverse team
A minimum of 1 year of handling a website or blogs for a corporate.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in handling at least three social media channels for a corporate.
Native French and English Language Speaker with excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Conversant with tools that manage scheduling, analytics and content creation of social media channels.
Attention to detail. Is a highly organised individual with the ability to adapt to surprises within digital communication and industry.
Experience in working in corporate and global business.
Excellent leadership qualities, including motivating others, team building, and credibility.
Team player that enjoys building partnerships at all levels within an organisation and with external stakeholders, irrespective of challenging departments, individuals or circumstances.
Demonstrated ability in prioritising multiple projects and content planning.
Appreciates cultural diversity and challenges that come while working in a remote location.
More Details and What We Offer:
The position is based out of Pokola, the Republic of the Congo (Brazzaville).
The position is for a one-year contract, subject to annual renewal.
Position Start Date – 01/01/2022
One month annual holiday.
