Union Bank of Cameroon Plc is presently in search of a Human Resource Officer in its head office, Douala Cameroon.

Opportunity is open for external candidates. Job Purpose: The HR Officer will be responsible for the development and administration of the comprehensive total reward strategy and programs of Union Bank of Cameroon (UBC).

The primary function of the position is to manage all aspects of the employee compensation and Benefits program. This will include payroll, health care plan, retirement plan, leave of absence allowances, social security (CNPS) monthly declarations and any other employee benefit plans offered by the Bank.

The candidate will proactively ensure that the Banks total rewards program enhances the organizations ability to attract and retain employees.

Reporting Responsibilities:

Reports to the Head, Human Resources Duties and Responsibilities :

Collaborates with the Head of Human Resources, to plan, design, implement and administer a comprehensive rewards strategy, and programs.

Ensure efficient and accurate management of payroll and salary data in collaboration with Head HR and other internal stakeholders.

Establish and ensure the proper functioning of the banks life and health insurance policies while ensuring that staff benefits are fully and efficiently utilized.

Effectively plans and directs the implementation and administration of all benefit plans (health care insurance, life insurance, retirement plan) including on boarding of new employees into these plans.

Effectively manages and collaborates with insurance vendors, including managing performance of their contracts to ensure maximum value of services is delivered.

Develop and coordinate communications strategies and activities designed to educate and inform employees about total rewards and benefits.

Serve as the main resource person for employees regarding all compensation and benefit related matters.

Supports the development and integration of new and/or existing rewards programs, policies and procedures to ensure that programs are market competitive, internally equitable and cost effective.

Maintain confidentiality of work-related issues, records and company information.

Ensure legal compliance at all times by monitoring and implementing applicable HR requirements as per working documents :

Labour code, Collective agreement for banks and financial institutions, and all other bylaws, Undertake any other duties which may be requested by the Line Manager/ and or management

Perform all other duties as assigned by Head, HR

Competencies/ Skills

Required Minimum of a BSc degree in HR/Law/Business Administration or any other related field 5+ years’ progressive experience in

Total Rewards (Compensation, Benefits etc.).

Familiarity and working knowledge with sage payroll is an added advantage

High level of honesty and integrity,

Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Proficiency in Microsoft office tools (Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Comprehensive knowledge of benefit practices, programs, design and administration.

Strong attention to detail Application
